Chin State is located in western Myanmar. The capital of the state is Hakha. The state is a mountainous region with few transportation links. Chin State is sparsely populated and remains one of the least developed areas of the country.

Our 4 days adventure tour is extended from Bagan with 4x4 wheel drive to southern Chin State; Kanpet and Mindat. Mt. Victoria is the most highlight place for hiking, bird watching and motorbike ride tour. During our visit, Tattooed face Chin Ladies' homes visit, trekking to Kant-thar-yone Chin village, Kyar Do village trekking, swimming at Chee Creek and tasting Mythun meat with Chin rice-wine will be included too. Driving to Mindat is thrilling and mountainous, we'll be travelling up and down hills, en route, can see Chin villages, traditional Chin houses, and stunning landscapes. Such a great adventure, cultural and tribal visits.

Day 1
Bagan - Kanpetlet

After your visit in Bagan, extended trip to Chin Mountain is recommended for those love adventure mountain drive, see tattooed Chin Ladies and wanted to hike up to Mt. Victoria (over 10000 feet above sea level). Guide and car meet up at the hotel lobby in Bagan and drive all the way to Kanpetlet located 4560 ft above sea level and 101 miles distance from Bagan. Approximately 5 hours by 4x4 wheels car. On the way we’ll be passing Chauk, Seikphyu and Kazunma towns. Stop at Saw to visit little Chin ladies with tattooed on the faces. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Continue to Kanpetlet passing natural bamboo grove, small bridges and deciduous forest along either side. The road becomes hilly, rugged and dusty before Kanpetlet. Arrival to Kanpetlet in the afternoon, start our visit to Chin villages where tattooed women will play a music with their traditional instruments. Follow by Kant Thar Yone village trekking which is quite amazing with great mountain valleys, waterfall and nice landscape. Our local Chin guide will prepare rice-wine and snacks one our back from trekking. End of the day, we’ll go back to hotel.

Day 2
Kanpetlet - Mt. Victoria - Aye Ywar Village Camp

Breakfast at the hotel by 06:30 am.

Car will drive to 10th miles basecamp through Kanpetlet-Mindat road to go Mt. Victoria, it takes about 1,5 hours to reach. Enjoy scenic ride and photos stop can make along the way. 10th Mile Mountain is located 8000ft above sea level and take a photo with pine trees and Chin Mountain flower. We’ll leave the car here and hiking 3.5 miles to the Mt. Victoria mountain top via hidden hiking trails among the thick jungle. Great opportunity to be in touch with locals, explore the mountain ecosystem enriched with Pine forest, Hill Savannah, Hill evergreen forest, and different species of birds and butterflies. Witness a partial daily life of Chin People. This hiking is taking 2,5 hours uphill and 1,5 hours downhill (you may take motorbike taxi 5000 Kyats per person /way if needed). Enjoy the packed lunch that provided from the hotel. After Mt. Victoria hiking, get back to 10 miles camp, continue to Aye Village camp and we’ll do camp stay there. En route we can stop by a few villages and take some photos.

Day 3
Trekking to Kyar Do village – Chee Creek swimming – Mindat

Breakfast is at Aye Ywar Camp with basic foods.

Another adventure day trekking to Kyar Do village have nearly 70 houses with tattooed women, hunters and farmers. Swimming at Chee creek after downhill trekking. Lone Pae village can be extended for the trekking and we’ll meet our driver at lower part of Chee Creek. Walk along the creek and enjoy fresh air and photography. Continue by car to Mindat for 2 hours uphill drive through deep valley and stunning mountain views. If we can make it in time, enjoy the sunset at Taung Pu Lu Monastery, it’s a spectacular moment!

Dinner is served at Myo Ma restaurant with local foods.

Day 4
Mindat – Bagan

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning visit Mindat market and see ways of life of the Chin people. Along the main road, Chin houses are built and where elder ladies with tattooed faces are living, everywhere we can see them. We’ll visit to the Chin grandma’s house to watch the flute playing by nose. Afterward, visit Chin Traditional Museum to see colorful collections of the antiques from Pyu period and other Chin traditional collections.

Downhill drive to Bagan via Yaw, Kamma and Pakkoku main road. Lunch is taken at Kamma township with traditional Burmese foods as we miss it already after 3 days in Chin State area 😊. After lunch, continue to Bagan and passing Pakkoku town and the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River. We can take you to visit hidden cave temple in Bagan near the river side if you haven’t visited yet in Bagan. A great sunset spot we’ll bring you there, enjoy homemade lemonade and enjoy beautiful sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River.
