Mrauk U offers some of the richest archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Innumerable temples and pagodas are scattering which preserved as places, thereby exerting a great influence on spiritual life of the people. Mrauk U is located in the westernmost part of Myanmar and it's one of off the beaten track destination and perfect for those interested history, culture and outdoor adventure activities.

Day 1
YANGON – SITTWE – MRAUK U (L)

Take your flight to Sittwe where your guide is waiting at the airport and transfer to Mrauk U by a private car via stunning landscapes and paddy fields. Mrauk U offers some of the richest archaeological sites in South-East Asia and Myanmar’s second-most-famous archaeological site. Enjoy scenic ride and a few stops at villages and at ancient cities and temple ruins of Rakhine Dynasty. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. End of the day, we’ll drop you at the hotel in Mrauk U.

Day 2
DISCOVER MRAUK U – FULL DAY (B, L)

After your breakfast, guide will meet you at the hotel lobby to start an active discovery tour. Cycling to Mrauk U palace walls and to the museum where we can learn rich history of Mrauk U, ancient Buddha Images and relics. People who live near the palace complex, found old plates and gold items in the past. Continue biking to discover Mrauk U massive temples, monastery, and the town. Highlights temple are Shittaung Paya, Dukkhanthein Paya, Kothaung Paya, Andaw Paya, PitakaTaik and Peisi Daung Paya. Mrauk U discovery tour will be covering all the temples and locals’ daily activities such as carrying shiny aluminium water pots (imported from Bangladesh), selling foods and goods at the market and etc. Stop at the old lakes and canals where we can see people washing clothes and fishing. Home cooked lunch with traditional Rakhine’s foods will be served. Sunset over the view point hill is fantastic, guide will serve some drinks and snacks.

Day 3
MRAUK U – CHIN VILLAGES BY BOAT (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel.

Morning, guide will pick up around 8:00am, transfer to the jetty on the way to Chin Village. Simple wooden boat is parking at the village where we’ll take 2 hours journey to Chin villages. Along the way, you’ll see many villages, fishermen, and people carrying river stones for construction. Enjoy fresh air on the boat and take a nap in the middle of beautiful nature. A few villages where Chin Ladies with tattooed faces are living, weaving and some do plantations. Traditional Chin houses, people ways of life and we can visit the houses to talk with them. On the way back by boat trip, you can ask several questions about Mrauk U, people or anything about culture or history that arise in your thoughts. Boat trip is about 4 hours in total up and down stream. This is indeed a great trip away from temples and focussing to countryside, Chin villages, people’s life and nature. Afternoon, we’ll get back to the hotel or explore temples and monastery in Mrauk U.

Day 4
MRAUK U – SITTWE – YANGON (B, L)

Breakfast at the hotel. Morning around at 07:00am, we’ll transfer to the jetty in Mrauk U. Nearly 4 hours river cruise over the Kaladan River will take us back to Sittwe. Enjoy the stunning river view, nearby paddy fields, river banks and mountains in the distance. It’s the best way to travel between two cities and certainly a highlight of the trip to Mrauk U by boat trip. On arrival in Sittwe, car is ready to bring you around such as local market, Bay of Bengal, Sittwe View Point, and Mahakuthala Kyaungdawgyi where old coins and Buddha images are collected. Fly back to Yangon after lunch.
